WIND TUNNEL TESTING

The wind tunnel testing phase of the Fx-700 program will take place at Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) advanced wind tunnel facility in Israel. With over 40 years of expertise, this facility has provided comprehensive aerodynamic testing for both civil and military programs, including fighter jet aircraft design analysis, advanced missile development, and business jet evaluations such as those conducted for the Gulfstream G-280.

The wind tunnel testing phase will be used to analyze and calibrate CFD design results in real-world conditions, ensuring the most accurate data for scaling up aircraft designs.
IAI's state-of-the-art wind tunnel supports a full range of aerodynamic testing, covering subsonic, transonic, and hypersonic velocities from Mach 0 to Mach 12.

The wind tunnel testing of the Fx-700 includes testing of moments, using external and internal balances for testing and assessment of:

-
Ground effect
-
Aerodynamic pressure analysis over the full airspeed and angle of attack operating envelope
-
Engine performance
-
Visualization of CFD projections

The program will utilize force and moment testing with internal balances to analyze:

-
Grid and Trajectory performance,
-
Trajectory System (CTS) analysis
-
Air flow pressures around aircraft structures
-
Force and moment parameter
